Retour d'expérience sur le fameux Odroid-C1

Début de l'expérience : Janvier 2015.
Premier noyaux d'origine : Lubuntu fournis par Hardkernel
Environnement matériel initial : Carte Odroid-C1, Boitier plastique, Carte sd 4Go, adaptateur hdmi-VGA, bloc d'alimentation externe

On va enfin pouvoir s'amuser !

==========================================================

My feedback on the famous ODROID-C1

Beginning of the experiment : January 2015.

First original kernel : Lubuntu provided by Hardkernel

Initial hardware environment : ODROID-C1 Card, Plastic Case, 4GB SD Card, HDMI-VGA adapter, external power supply

First conclusions after a week of use

  • Overloaded disk image
  • Full of unnecessary applications
  • The basic installation Kodi, not necessarily required

Conclusion : not really conclusive for my taste ...

So i take the direction of support forum HardKernel: there is one, already a good sign!

My great surprise : my opinion is shared by others. The brains start working.

This quickly leads to the development of the first image disk Debian with minimalist base.

We will finally be able to have fun

Work environment optimization

  • Adding environment variables for France
  • Installing the stripped-LXDE
  • Installation of the office suite LibreOffice, GIMP, Scribus, Inkscape, DosBox ...
  • Hardware modification to avoid having to use an external power supply.
  • Buying a 8GB eMMC for comfort
  • Implementation of the management of its USB and HDMI

Pending issues

Test the keyboard / mouse Wirless, some small problems, not sure that it comes from the board or the system. current resolving

Final balance (after two months of use as a PC)

  • A very good board, overclass the Raspberry PI2,
  • Increased speed through the EMMC, and Quad-Core Cortex-M5
  • Works perfectly, can be used on a TV: as computer or TV Box
